According to Telegraph MySpace has won a record settlement against so called “Spam King” Sanford Wallace. The record £165 million settlement comes after a legal battle over spam messages Wallace sent to MySpace members.

Wallace ran a spam company that allegedly sent as many as 30 million junk emails daily in the 1990’s. Many hope that the huge judgment will serve as a warning to other spammers who will see that they can be punished.

However, the realists among us will understand that the people who send spam messages are making money from spam and don’t believe they will be caught. MySpace says that some 730,000 spam messages were sent to its members from Wallace’s company and used friend’s names making them look legitimate.
