A new paper has proposed that the carbon nanotube could be a potentially harmful for the health of some people as asbestos. According to the paper specific lengths of the tiny fibers were found to cause asbestos like lesions and inflammation in mice.

The carbon nanotubes are one of the best new technological advances that are bound to be used in electronics of the future. The nanotubes are already finding uses in things like tennis rackets and bike handle bars according to BBC News.

The good news is that since the carbon nanotubes are inside a structure they pose little risk to users of products made with them. However, the study points out that the risk for workers in manufacturing using carbon nanotubes could be serious.
