Asus has a real winner on its hands with the Eee line of small and cheap notebook computers. Most recently it announced the Eee 900 series that features a larger 9-inch display and some new tech. Some journalists are saying that they received an invite to an Asus event at Computex that announced a new product in a roundabout way.

The invitation reportedly says come join Asus for the introduction of the Eee PC 901 and the Eee PC 1000 series. The catch is that Asus doesn’t yet have a 1000 series Eee.

The scuttlebutt says that the 1000 series would be a 10-inch screen version of the Eee. This would make sense when you consider that the first digit of the model number has corresponded with the model all along with the 900 series featuring a 9-inch screen. This may also be the first line of Eee’s to get the Intel Atom processors.
