Microsoft announces on its Live Search blog that the company acquired Powerset - a semantic search company.

Powerset's technology breaks down the meaning of words and sentences into related concepts, freeing users from always needing to type the exact words they want to find.
Microsoft highlights that they bought Powerset because of its people.
Powerset has licensed technology from Xerox's PARC and recently announced a Wikipedia search service.
