This week Best Buy offers a special PS3 bundle featuring the 40 inch Sony Bravia KDL-40V4100 HDTV and the Sony Bravia HTCT100 3.1ch sound bar.
All three items together would cost $2,099.97 at Best Buy. The TV has a $150 rebate and when you buy the PS3 and the soundbar on top you get another $350 savings resulting in a $1,599.97 Package Price. Comparing the price of the Sony Bravia KDL-40V4100 on and other retailers show a lower price, of $1,179.99 compared to $1,249.99, but the difference does not even come close to competing with the overall package rebate.

The question is not if this Best Buy PS3 bundle is a great deal. The question is if you want that Sony TV. The Sony Bravia V series is actually not bad. It is somewhat part of the Sony medium range with feature highlights including 1080p, MotionFlow 60Hz, 24p, XMB with 3D graphics, and 4 HDMI ports.
Comparable 40 inch 1080p HDTVs also cost you at least $1,000 confirming that this PS3 deal is giving good value.
