After the PS3 firmware 2.40 was found to have caused the untimely demise of several different PS3 consoles around the world, Sony pulled the 2.40 update from its website. Today we get the improved version that hopefully doesn’t break our PS3’s.

Firmware version 2.41 is now available for download in the traditional methods. The update adds trophies capability to the PS3 and in-game XMB access. The new update promises to not kill your console.

However, if it’s all the same I will wait a few days before I update mine just to be on the safe side. I wonder if the users out there with bricked consoles will have any issues getting them replaced from Sony.
