Soundmatters has announced a new portable audiophile quality sound system called the foxL. The system is tiny measuring in at 5.6" x 2.2" x 1.4" and provides 80Hz - 20 kHz full range output and real bass.

Soundmatters says that the device uses newly designed and update components including a pair of 1" Linear Magnetic Drive Twoofers tuned to 100Hz. The device also uses the Soundmatters patented FlatMagic bass radiator.

The device is available with and without Bluetooth connectivity allowing audio to be streamed from notebooks, phones or other Bluetooth equipped devices. A lithium-ion battery good for up to 5 hours per charge powers the foxL. Pricing for the foxL is $199 for the non-Bluetooth version and $249 for the Bluetooth version. Both versions will be available in September.
