HTC has been eschewing Windows mobile 6.1 standard with its new handsets more apt to come with the pro version. HTC has announced a new handset called the S740 that changes that.

The new handset uses Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard and has some of the looks from its Pro wielding Touch brother. The handset features dual band HSDPA connectivity, Wi-Fi, a 3.2MP camera and more.

A pull out keyboard makes texting easy. Most handsets don't use the standard version of Windows Mobile 6.1 so it’s a bit of an oddity to see the version show up in a handset.
