T3 is claiming that the battery life on the coming PSP 3000 is less than that of the previous PSP versions. The cause of the reduced battery life is due to the increased brightness and contrast of the display.

Sony says that user will see about 20 or 30 minutes less battery life. That seems like a lot of battery reduction to me. The Nintendo DS has a significantly longer battery life.

PSP 3000 hopefuls that need more battery life will need a second battery or the extended run 2200 mAh battery that is available. Batteries from other PSPs will work in it as well.
