According to the NDS DVR Report, an international survey of 1,000 DVR owners 7 out of 10 people can’t live without their DVRs. I know I couldn’t live without my DVR. If my daughter couldn't watch Little Einstein's on demand the world would end.

The survey shows that DVR owners ranked the DVR as the third most important household appliance behind the washing machine and microwave. DVR owners with partners also say that the DVR makes for a happier home life. I’ll second that one. Not having to watch America's Top Model makes my well being much better at home.

According to the survey, 70% of DVR owners say they can't live without their DVR. NDS says that there are over 13.1 million NDS-powered DVRs in the world today. 89% of Americans say that the DVR has improved how much they enjoy TV.
