HP added new Compaq desktop computers to its business line today with a new series called the Compaq dc7900. The systems are aimed at the enterprise market and include the rp3000 point-of-sale solution geared towards small to medium retail markets.

The rp3000 use an Intel Atom processor and will retail for $699. The dc7900 business desktop is an ultra-slim desktop available in convertable mini tower models or small form factor versions. The systems are 87% power efficient and have the ENERGY STAR 4.0 and EPEAT Gold certifications. The systems start at $599.

"HP continues to deliver the innovative computing solutions needed to drive a successful business - providing reliable products and stronger security, along with support services and custom solutions that help our customers stay focused on their business instead of the technology that runs it," said Jeri Callaway, senior vice president, Personal Systems Group, HP.
