The original F.E.A.R. FPS game was one of the best FPS titles to grace the PC in years. Monolith and Warner Bros. have announced that the next installment in the franchise called F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin is coming in early 2009. The game will be available on the Xbox 360, PS3, and Windows PCs.

Warner says that the ship date is slated for February 10, 2009 in America and February 13, 2009 in Europe. The game is set in a world that starts shortly before the end of the original game where a special forces squad is sent to combat Alma.

"The name addition builds upon the strong game recognition, which we will extend as we move forward reinventing the F.E.A.R. brand," said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin will continue the legacy of the original F.E.A.R. game with story and combat while adding new twists, gameplay and graphics to expand the players' experience." Via FEAR
