Abaco Computer Is First In UK To Use Dual-core Atom

Abaco Computers announced that it is the first PC company in the UK to offer the new Intel Atom dual-core CPU to customer. A desktop computer using the new processor will be available on September 19th. The desktop system uses a small form factor chassis.

Measurements for the computer are 20x10x27cm. Features include the dual-core Atom at 1.6GHz, 1GB of RAM, 250 GB HDD, DVD burner, graphics are via Intel GMA 950, and on-board audio are features. The machine runs on Ubuntu Linux 8.04.

The system can be upgraded with 2GB of RAM. There is no availability for other operating systems than Linux. The computer will retail for €349.00 with VAT.
