According to TechRadar, a new Nintendo DS is set to hit Japan this holiday season. The new hardware is said to have a built-in camera and the ability to playback music. TechRadar says it polled developers to see the reaction to the announcement.

Reactions ran from we have no knowledge of such a system to we want to know how the camera and music player can be used in games. I am betting Nintendo has added the music player function in an effort to get enough value add on the device to entice new buyers.

The camera on the other hand I could see being used to allow custom images in some games. EA did this with the iPhone version of Spore. The camera can be used to snap a pic and transfer it as a creature skin in the game.
