Sony is said to be eyeing the PSP as the next console for MMO games. Sony has sold 34 million PSPs around the world and each of them has built-in connectivity. That means they could all connect online and be used for online gaming.

The publisher of the first significantly popular MMORPG EverQuest is considering integrating the PSP into its existing games. The Pet Game Free Realms allows users to connect online with their PSP and play with their virtual pet.

I can see the value for a gamer to be able to play online games like World of Warcraft or EverQuest from a portable game system. That would be a great addition to already popular games.
