Nintendo has given the Wii Speak channel a date of December 5th for European gamers. The service will be free, but does require the purchase of a Wii Speak accessory that sits atop the sensor bar.

The accessory is a microphone that allows your voice to be heard when you talk. Up to four people can chat at a time on Wii Speak and the individual Mii's will be shown on screen with mouths moving in time to the chat action.

The same day the Wii Speak accessory launches, the Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City game will launch as well. A bundle pack with the game and the Wii speak accessory will also be available at an unknown price.
