Asus has announced that some of its Eee box desktop computers were shipped with malware already on the system. At this point only buyers in Japan are possibly infected. Asus has made no announcement of infected machines making it to other countries.

The virus on the machine is from 2006 according to reports and most antivirus software suites can detect and remove it. It's unclear at this time how the machines were shipped with the virus installed.

Asus is having a hard time with inappropriate content being installed on its computers. Last month some Asus notebooks shipped with confidential documents and software crackers installed on the drive.
