The Nobel Peace Price of 2008 goes to Martti Ahtisaari. The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the Nobel Peace Prize for 2008 to Martti Ahtisaari for his important efforts, on several continents and over more than three decades, to resolve international conflicts.
Former Finnish President Martti Ahtisaari is today an outstanding international mediator and has been in the past twenty years involved in resolving several serious and long-lasting conflicts world-wide.
