BT has been fined £1.3 for call fraud by the Ministry of Defense. The MoD found that BT was calling each other on the phone to meet their call answering targets.

BT had been operating a phone system for the MoD that provides service for over 200,000 people. The fraud was discovered by the National Audit Office. MoD itself may catch some heat over the fraud.

The NAO says that the MoD should have TCOB and the fraud wouldn’t have happened. MoD police are investigating but no charges are planned to be filed.
