It hasn't been too long since Microsoft dropped the price of its Xbox 360 game console to better compete with the Wii and PS3. The price for the Xbox 360 Arcade and Premium systems are now under the cost of the Wii in the UK.

Microsoft has stated that UK shopper should not expect the price of the consoles to drop further for a long time. Microsoft's Stephen McGill said, "We're a great price now. I'm not dropping the price for many many years in the future I would suspect."

McGill says he can’t speculate on where the price will go in five or ten years time. I wholly expect that over the next few years we will be seeing a new Xbox hit the market. The Xbox is getting a bit long in the tooth compared to the Wii and PS3.
