Drivers in the UK can get a new gadget that attaches to the dash of the car and can be used to warn other drivers of speed cameras and speed traps. Drivers using the device will be able to alert other drivers using the same gadget to the location of speed traps.

A loophole in the law makes the device possible. It works fast enough that a driver 300 yards behind the driver who sees the speed trap can slow down in time to avoid a ticket.

The device is made by a company called Novus and is known as the Mini Coyote. The maker says they are taking advantage of a legal grey area. The police can write warnings, but there have been few successful prosecutions.
