Blackberry has been working very hard to grab back some smartphone market share from the mighty Apple iPhone 3G. To do so it is launching phones rapidly and the next device to come from the maker is the Javelin.

The handset is reported to be going on sale in time for the holidays on December 20th and will be known as the Curve 8900. Carphone Warehouse didn’t confirm a carrier or price for the device, but expect it to be reasonable. The handset has a QWERTY keyboard and a trackball.

Other features include GPS, a 3.2MP camera, and Blackberry Maps. The handset looks very much like all other Blackberry phones. I think I still like the Storm better.
