With the holidays here that means New Year's resolutions are just around the corner. Many people pick getting fit as a resolution each year and sometimes gadgets can make those resolutions easier to meet. A company called BodyMedia has a new device called Gowear Fit that is described and a Lifestyle and Calorie Management system.

The device combines a pedometer, accelerometer, and heart rate monitor into one device that can track steps, calories burned, physical activity, sleep duration and efficiency. The level of accuracy for the device is claimed to be 90% or better. There are three components to the system including an armband, online activity manager, and an optional display that looks like a watch.

Pricing for the device is $199.95 with no commitment for the monitoring service, which is required at $12.95 per month. A 6-month commitment to the online service gets the device for $179.95 and service for $9.95 per month, and a 12-month commitment gets the device for $159.95 with service for $6.95 per month.
