Virtually every netbook on the market uses the same class-leading Intel Atom N270 CPU. The tiny CPU has proven to be a big hit for Intel, despite the low margins on the product. A new Roadmap from Intel has surfaced showing some future Atom processors that will be coming to market.

The future Atom parts are set to hit in 2010 and will be built on the 32nm manufacturing process. The new Atom parts carry the codename Medfield and will be a full system-on-a-chip solution with a CPU and chipset on one die.

The new Atom will also place integrated graphics on the die as well. Two parts will be offered with one aimed at the netbook class system and another for mobile devices like smartphones.
