TV has come a long way since its introduction from a grainy black and white image to the full HD images we enjoy today. The future of TV is now 3D according to many TV makers and satellite and cable networks.

Sky has announced that it has developed the technology and infrastructure to send programs to viewers in 3D. That means in the not too distant future you could be watching your favorite match in 3D.

Sly says that it will continue to develop the technology over the next few years as TV makers work to get 3D ready hardware on the market. At this point viewers will have to wear those ugly 3D glasses. Matches shot in 3D will use two cameras filming side by side that are played at the same time on the TV screen.
