Back on Christmas day Sony's website accidentally published a placeholder page with a few specifications on a new P Series netbook. We expect to see the netbook officially announced at CES 2009. Right now, all we know is that the accidental page published claims a crazy high screen resolution for the small netbook. Update: Sony VAIO P officially announced

Today the Sony Japanese site has a page up that shows a woman with a small purse walking towards a door and then exiting a residence. As the woman walks, the screen rapidly changes from an image of the P series keyboard and tracking nub to the woman walking.

I guess we are to assume that the woman has the new P Series netbook stashed away in her little bag. Other than that brief glimpse, Sony is mum on the product. The keyboard tracking nub is very Lenovo in its design. I am betting the P Series will lack a traditional track pad to make for its compact size.
