Nokia announces the N79 Active phone for users who like to be physically active while using their handset. The N79 includes a Polar Bluetooth WearLink heart rate belt to send heart rate information to the handset.

The N79 Active also includes an A-GPS unit for tracking and a new version of the Nokia Sports Tracker applications. With the application, users can publish their favorite routes and fitness data onto the Internet.

The handset features a built-in 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics. Nokia says that the N79 Active is the smallest N-series device to date and includes headphones and a sporty armband. The handset will retail for EUR 375 before taxes and subsidies.
