Boost Mobile has announced that it will offer a data plan bundle with unlimited data, talk, messaging, and PTT for only $50 per month. Before you get all excited at the price, consider that the data plan is on an old and slow iDEN network.

That means you won’t get broadband speeds, but if you rarely get online with your phone and are looking simply for the unlimited voice and text, this is a serious bargain. The plan is so much cheaper than the other unlimited plans, which can run over $100 per month that Boost is sure to get new customers.

Exactly what handset will be available on the new service in unknown. According to BGR, the rumored offerings will be some sort of candy bar phone and a new smartphone, which hasn’t been announced yet. If the phone is cool, this plan could be a winner for the customer and Boost.
