Sony and the Arsenal football club have announced that the Premier League club is working with Sony to bring live replays of matches to the PSP via an exclusive application. The system would allow fans to stream any live game along with data, stats, and replays.

The software is in testing now and is expected to debut within the next 18 months. Sony is said to be looking at ways that PSP owners could used the handheld console to create communities in during the game.

One odd bit is that the application is apparently only for fans at the game; it would make more sense to allow fans watching on TV or at the local pub to use the service as well. The software should hit towards the end of the 2009-2010 season.
