In many opinions, the repeated dismissal by Apple of the netbook category is a clear case of thou doth protest too much. Apple interim CEO Tim cook said that the firm sees netbooks as inferior and cramped.

TechRadar sees that statement as code for we think other netbooks are inferior and we can do it better. Indeed many consumers and analysts are waiting for Apple to jump into the netbook market.

I happen to think that Apple could do very well in the market with a netbook at around $600 that runs a cut down version of the real OS X and uses the NVIDIA Ion platform the 9400M GPU Apple is so fond of. I am not interested in an expensive MacBook, but a $600 Mac netbook would be interesting.
