If it seems like the PSP has been around for a while, it’s because it has. The PSP has seen a few minor updates for better screens, longer battery life, and a thinner profile but at its core, it is the same machine that has been around since it launched.

Sources close to Sony deny that a new version of the portable console is coming. Considering the beating the PSP is taking at the hands of the Nintendo DS, you would think a new version was in the works.

IGN has reported that a new PSP is in the works that features multi-touch. I bet that won’t happen considering Apple was just granted a patent on multi-touch technology.
