I have several friends that use Blackberry mobile phones, and are constantly texting or using the devices. Naturally, their kids are playing with toy phones and trying to run off with the Blackberry if you leave it sitting around.

LeapFrog has announced a new learning toy for kids that looks a lot like mom and dad's Blackberry. This may be just the thing to get your little ones to leave your expensive smartphone alone.

The device has a full QWERTY keyboard, LCD screen and can send pretend text messages to a puppy. To help kids learn there is a calendar, phonics function and other games. The device will launch in August for £19.99.
