Sony Says It Will Hit PS3 Sales Forecast

Despite the poor global economy, Sony insists that it will hit its sales forecast for PS3 consoles during the current fiscal year. Sony has forecast that it will sell 10 million units be the end of its current fiscal year.

Sony reports that over 4 million PS3s were sold in the three months ending on December 31 2008. The number was down from the previous year, but kept the company on target to meet goals for the year.

Sony's current fiscal year ends on March 31 2009. Sony does say that it has lowered the sales forecast for its PSP portable game console from 16 million units to 15 million units based on holiday sales.
