Vodafone has announced that it secured the deal to be the exclusive UK provider for the new HTC G2 Google Android powered handset. The HTC device will be called the HTC Magic and will be a Vodafone exclusive for a limited period.

T-Mobile was the exclusive provider of the original Android phone, the G1. The Magic has a 3.2-inch QVGA touchscreen display and uses a trackball and navigation buttons. Several email options are supported including Gmail, POP3, and IMAP.

The original G1 proved to be a popular handset and Google's Android open source OS is one of the favored operating systems of those looking to get a smartphone with an open design. Several Android handsets were expected to debut at MWC 2009 and the HTC Magic is one of those devices.
