Microsoft announced a deal that it has signed with NBC Universal that will allow owners of the Xbox 360 game console to download and watch movies from Universal on their TVs. Paramount and Warner Bros have previously agreed to similar deals with Microsoft.

Plans are also reportedly in effect to launch a new interactive quiz show on the console called 1 vs. 100 allowing users to compete against each other to win prizes.

Hard details on the new service are scant at the moment, and whether or not the movies must be purchased or if they can be rented is unknown along with pricing. I am still waiting for studios to get with the times and allow streaming rentals for movies the day they are available in the movie store.
