The online music service called Spotify has been hacked and user account details have been stolen. The service revealed yesterday that details had been stolen and urged the over one million users of the service to change passwords.

Among the stolen data are passwords, email addresses, birth dates, gender details, postcodes, and billing information. The company says that credit card details are safe since they are handled by a third party.

The company says that the information was exposed to a bug that was discovered and fixed on December 18th of last year. The company says that it only found last week that the security hole was there and had been exploited.
