If you want an iPhone in the UK, but you don’t want to be locked to a contract or a specific network Play.com has your fix. Play.com is offering fully unlocked and Sim free versions of the iPhone at £549.99 for the 8GB and £599.99 for the 16GB models.

Both versions are available in black only and this marks the first time that unlocked iPhones have been offered legally. The legal offering means that the devices carry a full manufacturer's warranty and many point to the offering as proof that a new iPhone model is coming soon.

Play.com says, "This is a genuine Sim Free mobile phone and therefore unlocked to all UK networks. It is not unlocked from a UK or European network and is available due to EU legislation ensuring the sale of SIM free mobile phones. Comes with a full manufacturer warranty."
