The current Xbox 360 console has been on the market for several years and many are eagerly waiting for its replacement. A game developer has confirmed that it has been in talks with Microsoft about a new Xbox console.

Blizzard says that it has taken part in talks with Microsoft about a new next-gen console. An exact time line for the new system is unknown, and if Microsoft is only now in talks with developers that may well mean the new console is in very early development.

Blizzard said that the next gen console should improve support for input devices to better allow RTS games to be ported to consoles. The current Xbox 360 is four years old.
