Sky made it’s first ever broadcast in 3D yesterday and it was not some big world breaking event, instead it covered a music gig at the Abbey Road Studios by Keane. Using a Hyundai 3D-ready TV and an existing Sky+HD set top box Sky delivered the first domestic 3D broadcast in the UK via it’s satellite network without the need for those silly 3D glasses.

This means in theory all you need to do is upgrade your TV to a 3D ready one to be able to watch 3D shows and movies, but seeing as most people are only just upgrading to HD ready TV’s I can’t see this catching on just yet, also there is not enough current 3D content available to keep consumers happy at this point.
