Nintendo's Wii Fit game has set a record by staying at the top of the UK all formats game charts. Wii Fit has now sat at the top of the charts for 12 weeks straight. The previous record holder was also a Nintendo game called Pokemon Yellow.

Other games sitting on the chart this week include Godfather II at number 2, Mario & sonic at the Olympic Games at 3, Resident Evil 5 at 4, Fifa 09 at number 5.

The only new video game to break the top 40 on the chart was Godfather II debuting at number 2. EA is in a bit of hot water in the US after shipping some reviewers a set of brass knuckles with Godfather II, which turned out to be illegal in many states.
