F1 racing fans will be excited to hear that the license to build video games based on F1 and driver likenesses has been granted to Codemasters. The game developer will be releasing F1 games for all major consoles.

F1 2009 will launch this year for the Wii and PSP. Next year F1 2010 will launch for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 consoles.

The games will reportedly be powered by the EGO Engine that looked great in the GRID racing title. Current world champion Lewis Hamilton's likeness will be included in the games.
