Averatec Unveils New 12-inch Notebook

Averatec has announced its latest ultra-portable notebook computer. The 12-inch N2700 notebook is a compact machine that offers impressive performance with a 2GHz Intel dual-core processor, 250Gb HDD, 4GB of RAM, and an integrated 8x DVD burner. The operating system for the machine is Windows Vista Home Premium and the notebook sells for $699.

The specific processor used in the system is the Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 running at 2GHz. Averatec says that pre-installed software is minimized for performance. Other features of the notebook include integrated 802.11b/g wireless, Ethernet port, three USB 2.0 ports, and a single FireWire port.

Other connectivity options include front mic and headphone jacks, VGA output, and a 4-in-1 memory card reader. Graphics for the machine are via Intel GMA X4500HD and the machine runs the 64-bit version of Vista. Overall dimensions are 11.6-inches W x 8.9-inches D x 1.2-inches H and the machine weighs four pounds.
