NASA has its Hubble Space Telescope that has been in orbit and producing some of the best images of the heavens available. British scientists are set to launch their own space telescope called the Herschel space telescope.

Along with the Herschel, the scientists will launch the Planck telescope as well. The two satellites will be launched in tandem on May 14th.

The telescopes are going to try to capture a look at the dust left from the creation of stars and to look for debris left by dying stars that could be used to build planets.
