The European Union fined Intel for a record $1.45 billion because of antitrust violations.
This is the biggest fine the EU has handed down on a company for unfair business practices.
Apparently Intel gave computer makers illegal rebates to squeeze AMD out of the market.
The fine is apparently 4.15% of Intel's sales in 2008 - quite hefty.
