A 3D task force has been set up by the Blu-ray Disc Association to tackle and solve issues that may arise when bringing 3D Blu-ray to the general population.

The team will be assigned to monitor new tech produced and be responsible for sorting out a universal specification for the format as more and more 3D films are hitting the cinema and will be expected to transfer to Blu-ray. It would be great to see cinema success's such as Bolt 3D, Coraline 3D and Monsters vs Aliens 3D, in 3D HD format. The creation of this 3D task force will hopefully hurry up the format, with the BDA saying in a statement: Blu-ray Disc is the ideal platform for bringing 3D technology to mainstream home entertainment.

"Blu-ray Disc's capacity, flexibility and incomparable picture quality coupled with the activities of the BDA's 3D task force sets the stage for a 3D home entertainment specification that establishes another industry standard and enables an in-home 3D consumer experience unmatched by any other delivery mechanism."
