iPhone users, Jumbuck Entertainment has just given you another weapon in your ceaseless fight against boredom and productivity. Power Chat, a global mobile community that claims 15 million registered users, has just been released as an app for the iPhone. You can download Power Chat from the Apple App Store for $2.99.

According to the press release, "Power Chat for iPhone delivers something that other mobile apps cannot offer: an abundance of fun, online people with whom you can chat and share photos."

Basically, Jumbuck has created a trans-carrier chat service that links millions of people from around the world together through their smartphones. Jumbuck claims to have "long-standing relationships" with over 100 carriers around the world, including all the major U.S. carriers. Power Chat for the iPhone comes with access to public chat rooms, photo sharing rooms, personal chat rooms, photo uploading functionality, and an active system of moderators to keep the Power Chat network safe.

I really like what Jumbuck is trying to do with Power Chat. The whole zeitgeist of the digital age is increased interconnectedness, and applications like this are just one way to further that goal. Connecting people from all across the world is a laudable dream, even if Jumbuck is expecting to make a fortune from doing it.
