Golfers who use the iPhone can now get an app on the App Store that tracks their golf game in as much detail as the pros use. The app generates tour quality statistics and allows golfers to share and compare their rounds.

Using the app golfers can score their rounds and view detailed game analysis and share rounds with friends. Available statistics and graphs in the app include; fairways hit, missed left & right, greens in regulation, recovery scrambling, sand saves, putts per hole and per GIR, scoring averages on par 3's, 4's and 5's, and scoring percentages.

I am not a golfer so I am not sure what most of that stuff means. Golfshot has over 15,000 courses available in the U.S. with more available worldwide and additional courses can be requested free. The app is available now for $5.99.
