The Nokia Ovi store for Nokia handsets has just launched and new apps for the device are starting to be offered. Among the new apps is Touchnote that allows users of Nokia Ovi compatible handsets to send friends physical greeting cards using images that are taken with the phones camera.

The application turns the photos into mini greeting cards letting the user type messages onto the image and send it via the phones mobile data connection or Wi-Fi to a recipient.

The application is available for free download on the Ovi store now and the maker is offering a free photo card credit to customers. Each card you send to friends costs £3 for one card, £5 for 5 cards, or 5 cards for £10. That seems a bit expensive to me, but considering they have to print the cards and mail them it's not that bad.
