More speed from your internet connection is always great. Typically that means you have to subscribe to a more expensive package to get the higher speeds.

BT has announced a program that will upgrade some users of its broadband service to speeds of up to 20Mbps. BT's planned ADSL2+ upgrade is where the new speeds are coming from.

In most cases, users will only see slight speed improvements on their current 8Mbps broadband speed. The customers who do get a speed increase will not be charged more for the upgrade, but their download caps may become more of an issue.
