Sprint has announced that last weekend's launch of the Palm Pre set a sales record for the wireless provider. The phone launched on Saturday and Sprint says that by late Sunday evening the Pre had shattered sales records.

Sprint also talked about a guy named Theodore Travis who was in line to get a Pre on his wedding day. The man asked a Sprint store employee to hold the 14th Pre available for him, and the employee did.

The man went to his wedding and returned after the ceremony to pick up his new Pre. Naturally, the woman was a bit peeved that her groom was in line to get a phone right before their wedding. I bet he got his first argument over the little fiasco.
